Log cabins in the woods. Softball games. Bonfires and color wars. These images come to many people’s minds when they think of summer camp. Student Tour and Camp Consultants work with many fields that fit these ideals. For many children (and their parents) a rustic, traditional camp provides the perfect, pressure-free summer.

Most traditional camps offer sports, arts and crafts, pioneering and water activities. They vary in style from structured to low-key, from pastoral to plush. There are many great ones in the area stretching from Virginia to Maine.

There are, also, many specialty camps offering instruction in particular areas of interest – whether it be a sport, art, music, theater, computer science, business or any other interest. Some specialty camps allow kids to work directly with farm animals. Others focus on hiking and backpacking. A few even teach circus skills.
